Legal
License
Effective Aug 27, 2026
The short version
- One purchased app = one commercial app, published under your own brand and accounts.
- Modify anything, with any tool. You keep 100% of your app’s revenue: no royalties, ever.
- The license never expires; the 12 months applies to updates only.
- Don’t resell, share, or open-source the codebase itself.
- Working titles and demo brands (like “Toast”) are placeholders; replace them before publishing.
- Agency license: unlimited client apps at about 3× the tier price. A refund ends the license.
The summary helps you read; the sections below are the agreement.
The license
When you buy, Applantic grants you a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive license to use the purchased codebase to build, publish, and operate one commercial app under your own brand and your own developer accounts. The license never expires; only the update stream is time-boxed (12 months, per the Terms). You keep every cent your app earns: no royalties, no revenue share, no Applantic branding in your app.
What “one commercial app” means
One product offered to end users. The same product listed on both the App Store and Google Play counts as one app, and unlimited private, test, and development builds are included. A second product needs a second license. What makes two releases the “same product” is their identity to users: one name, one listing pair, one user base.
What you may do
- Modify the code without limit: by hand, with AI tools, or both.
- Bring in employees and contractors to work on your copy, for your app, under your license.
- Rename, rebrand, reposition, and set your own prices. That’s the point.
- Publish under your own developer accounts and keep all revenue your app makes.
- Sell your app business and transfer this license with it (section 8).
What you may not do
- Resell, redistribute, publish, or share the codebase or any substantial part of it, whether in a repository, a marketplace, a template product, or anything of the kind.
- Sublicense it, except as the agency license allows (section 7).
- Use it to build a competing rebrandable-app, starter-kit, or template product.
- Remove or alter third-party license notices inside the folder.
- Represent your app as made or endorsed by Applantic; its work is yours to claim.
Working titles and demo brand
The name, icon, and demo brand each product wears in our store (“Toast”, for Nº 001) are ours and are not part of this license. They ship in the folder so the app runs on day one, as placeholders, for evaluation. Replace them before you publish; don’t release under our working title or demo brand.
Third-party components
The folder includes open-source and other third-party components under their own licenses, with their notices included. Your rights to those parts come from their licenses, not this one; leave the notices in place and comply with them. The included guides call out anything that needs attention when you publish.
Agency license
Selectable at checkout at about 3× the tier price, the agency license covers unlimited apps built from the purchased codebase: your clients’ and your own. Each client app publishes under that client’s own brand and developer accounts. You may hand a client the source for their app; when you do, the client is bound by this license as if they held a single-app license for it. What the agency license still doesn’t allow: reselling or repackaging the codebase itself as a product.
Transferring your license
Once, and with your app. If you sell your app business, this license transfers to the buyer; send us written notice naming the transferee, who takes the license under these same terms. It isn’t otherwise transferable.
How the license ends
A refund ends it. Requesting one confirms you’ll delete every copy and won’t publish or distribute the code (see the Refund Policy). We can also end it for a material breach you don’t fix within 30 days of our notice. When the license ends, you stop using and distributing the code and delete your copies.
Ownership
We and our licensors keep all rights in the codebase. You own what you add (your modifications, your brand, your content), and everything your app’s users create belongs to your relationship with them, not to us.
Everything else
The Terms of Service (warranty, liability, disputes, governing law) apply to this license, and prevail if the two documents ever conflict.
